LAPSUS$ Hacking and Extortion
However, Microsoft has merely said that it is looking into reports that its systems have been compromised.
It’s worth mentioning that LAPSUS$ is infamous for hacking and extorting large IT companies after gaining access to their confidential information.
One of the most recent extortion episodes involving LAPSUS$ occurred during the organization’s recent Nvidia breach when the group demanded an unusual and popular demand that had nothing to do with money.
Instead, the hackers asked that Nvidia release its GPU drivers open-source in a populist gesture. Furthermore, the extortion gang demanded that Nvidia eliminate the Ethereum cryptocurrency mining limits from its Nvidia 30 graphics cards.
